    Kristo KäoSome information about Kristo Käo:

    Graduated from the Music School of Kuressaare (1998, teacher Toomas Tang) and from the Estonian Academy of Music as a classical guitar soloist (BA 2002, lector Heiki Mätlik, MA 2006, associate prof. Mait Martin).

    He has also studied at the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music in Denmark as an exchange student (2001, prof. Jan-Inge Wijk, associate prof. Jesper Sivebaek) and has studied inmasterclasses as an active participant with Kari Äikäs, Hannu Annala, Juan Antonio Muro, Per Skareng, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Nikita Koshkin, Luis Quintero, Ana Vidovic, Scott Tennant, Manuel Barrueco, Reinbert Evers, Jose Miguel Moreno, Mats Bergström, Jesper Sivebaek and Per Palsson.

    Currently teaching guitar, chamber ensemble and pedagogical subjects at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Also, he is the author of the unique guitar method book “Kitarrikool – the key to the practical guitar playing” and web-based music schoolKitarrikool.eu which is part of his PhD research at the University of Tartu. Also he has released solo-CD “The Dance Album” and duo CD with Jorma Puusaag “Kiss on the Water”.

    Kristo is the chairman of the Estonian Guitar Society and artistic director of the annual guitar festival Fiesta de la guitarra. Performing as a soloist and with several chamber ensembles with violin, flute, vocals and a classical guitar duo. Member of the Tallinn Guitar Quartet.

    About the Guitar School project:

    Kitarrikool OÜ is an Estonian company specialising in the publishing of music textbooks and guitar music CD-s, offering instrument playing courses in groups and on the Internet, and the retail sale of musical instruments and literature on music. Kristo Käo, the founder of Kitarrikool.eu and the author of the methodology, is a lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and an educational technology doctoral student at the University of Tartu. In addition to giving concerts as a soloist and chamber musician, Kristo’s recordings are played by many radio stations around the world.
